Wow! I go out on a photo trip for fall colors and the orchid folks go wild! Just got back to check my fav board and there are more than 5 pages of replies! Sorry I won't be joining this project as I have settled in for winter. Have too many spikes to bring to blossom right now for my limited space. Fall colors are excellent here if you were curious.

Really? Want pics of fall colors, well tomorrow - I made over 100 selective images, a few of which include my grandson and would be glad to post. It'll be in off-topic, watch for the post tomorrow.

Love this one:

Chiloschista usneoides - LEAFLESS

It's available at Odoms.com:

Chiloschista usneoides Leafless orchid mounted on wood. Sprays of thick, velvety 1/2" to 3/4" greenish-yellow flowers hang on pendulous inflorescence that sprouts from the center of the root ball.
(Sp) BS. mount $35.00

I'd be hard pressed not to vote for this one:

Dtps. Purple Martin 'KS'
(Dtps. Kenneth Schubert X violacea)

Available at Big Leaf Orchids

Would it be bad form if I said I'd be in if either of the Laelias are selected? And if not I'll just wait for the spring project. I have CTS surgery scheduled for the right hand on Tuesday, and the left hopefully before the year is out. So I'll be more or less out of commission for several weeks.

Thanks Terri, you saved me some work

The rule book is wide open on this one...if you choose not to order what's picked, that's fine...don't worry about it.

We can be a lot more liberal with the specifics of who "plays" and what needs to be done because I won't be trying to set up a huge order with one vendor and asking for a discount.

On your surgery, I had the surgery twice on my right hand and once on my left...none of them really worked but they did help just a little bit. You'll go for physical therapy after the surgeries, that will help. Good luck to you and if you have any questions, maybe I can help. Let me know.
