Christian, the roots that are alive look fine, I wouldn't worry about it It's actually good that you were able to see the dead roots and get rid of them

I'm not worring that much - but it would have been better with nice healthy roots on more than one pb now that I'm facign the dark and cold periode
I just thought the vendor could have let me know or given me a discount. I didn't expect my plant to come like that when I bought at full price from a proffesional grower..

Thanks for mentioning that Christian!! I was getting ready to place an order there, but I'm having seconds thoughts now. I'll email and ask how they are shipped, and how much more it would cost to ship them potted. Plan B is that I go there directly to get them, even though it's 2 hours away. Like you said, it would be better to have well established plants before cold/dark sets in. I'm guessing that northern NL is pretty like what you experience.

Now once we post pics of the L. reginae, do we post a thread about other particulars, such as our decided growing habits...watering, light, medium, etc? I thought that was part of the previous project, or is it not time yet?
My first project....can you tell???????

I thought it was a good idea and potentially helpful for project members in Project 4. That's why I started that thread. I suggest the concept has some potential value here as well. Go for it. (I didn't participate in this project).

As Ross suggests, It's a great idea
I'll start one and make it a "sticky" so it'll be easy for all of us to find

Bad news everyone. As I look at my current situation, I will not be able to participate in this project.
Sue, I am afraid that until further notice (as I see this being a long term situation)I will not be able to participate in the project number 5 either. Perhaps in the future I will be able to trade for it with someone.
Moral of the story, KEEP TRACK of your EXPENSES
So from now on, I will have to live vicariously through all of you.

That's too bad, Tin
Please don't feel bad though...we never want anybody to put themselves in a bad way just to get an orchid.
That would just be silly
