When is the best time to re-pot if it doesn't like to be disturbed? I thought of using the PrimeAgra, but not the s/h method with this as well, but I would have to increase the pot size to do this.

Becca, I've moved mine into straight aliflor, but used a taller, more narrow pot with great drainage. It's like the plant is sitting in rocks without sitting in a puddle.

I read that the "best" media is something that doesn't break down, like gravel or volcanic rock or PrimeAgra. . .or some combination. But it would be fun to find a new "best" medium!
I wouldn't feel bad about transplanting now, although I am actually happy to leave my reginae in the gravel and pot it came in.
I'd make it quick though and try to be super delicate with the roots.
Susanne's little blue pot is really cute. Next time I go shopping, I'll be checking out the candle holder section. lol

Andy's Orchids
Hi All,
First, I am hoping this reply will make it. I keep getting told that I am not valid even though I login every 5 minutes. I can't seem to reply to people's posts.
My main news is that I got a phone call from Harry at Andy's Orchids and he was so wonderful! He was concerned about the temps here in Maine and shipping my Laelia reginae and we discussed options. He was so helpful! No wonder all of you love ordering from them. I don't even have my plant yet, and I'm a happy gal. He is going to ship it out tomorrow, but use the priority overnight services and I am so excited!
Suzanne, do you know why I can't reply to people's posts???? I could earlier. I keep getting logged out for some reason. Thanks!! kiki-do

I should be getting mine tomorrow I'll be potting mine in something called GreenMix - I don't know if anyone of you guys know it?
It is a medium based on rockwool and sponge rock.. Granulates of both actually. It holds quite a bit of water but still ensures ventilation (if used correct!), and it gets algea on top that turns in to moss with time. Looks beautifull
I'll post pics of repotting if you guys are interested. It's kind of s/h without actually being..

WOOHOOOOO I RECEIVED IT THIS MORNING.. The post lady actually woke me up!
Well, I was so happy opening the pack, but that happy feeling was soon replaced by dissapointment
The plant was shipped bare root (I guess to save money on the transport.. - so that's why he was so cheap! :P) and it only had 4 living roots, the rest were totally DEAD! As you can see in the first pic.
I got it potted in the smallest pot i could find - it is quite a bit to big I know, but it will just have to grow fast then I had to support it a bit..
Btw. this is the GreenMix media I told you guys about, over time you will see it get covered with algea and then moss (in the gallery).

Christian, at least the 4 roots that it does have, look very healthy. I am interested to see how the green mix media does. That's what is so neat about this project, seeing everyone's differences and their outcomes!
