Okie-dokie, I'm adding you to the list

You'll love the plants from Andy's. They're always wonderful...you'll be hooked like the rest of us

Post a picture when you get it

I am already so, way hooked. I've only been collecting/growing for a year and a half; have over 150 'chids. still cannot pass them by. I want a license frame that says 'I brake for Orchids'! Just let me know when to buy: did you say in the Spring?

The next project is not till next spring the one that cb977 is referring to is project 5 you can order that plant now from Andy's. The one you order is a Laelia reginae You can see the ones that every one has already received by going the gallery and clicking on project 5 photos. The project in the spring is going to include people from all over world and it will take awhile to even choose the plant. Hope this helps

Denise, this is perfect for you!

You've got the opportunity to get in on our current "Quickie project" which is Laelia reginae. Most of us have ordered from Andy's but you can get it anywhere you'd like to.

This project was put together because many of our members live in colder areas and don't have an easy time of it ordering orchids over the winter.

The next regular project, which will be much more involved, is scheduled to begin during the week of March 3, 2008 (it's in our OB calendar and anybody can go in and request a reminder for this event). We start by holding discussions in the chat rooms and then that explodes into the forums LOTS of information will be passed around. We always find at least a few that none of us are familiar with It's lots of fun

I'd love to...it's one of my favorites...but it calls for temps cooler than I can provide. I've always told folks to buy what is meant to grow in your location and then went against my own advice and tried some cooler growers...Bad Idea! I've learned my lesson and won't buy anything that's not referred to as hot-warm (of course ) and Intermediate because they're a bit more adaptable.

Den cuthbertsonii is a cool-intermdiate grower but the high is much less than I get for most of the year:

Take a look at this:
Andy's Orchids - Orchids Species - Dendrobium - erythroglossum (falconeri) Tiawan

and this:
Andy's Orchids - Orchids Species - Dendrobium - lawesii

I really like the Dendrobium erythroglossum! I am in the process of trying some cool-intermediate growers....even though I have more intermediate to warm conditions....I guess if they don't make it...then it will be a lesson learned, but I thought I would see how intermediate some of them really are!
