So if I want to participate, what do I do with a NBS plant?

If you get an NBS plant, it'll take longer to bloom than a BS plant, which is what we try to get. Keep in mind, for this project, we will be able to shop around individually for the vendor of our choosing. You should be able to find whatever plant wins at Blooming Size somewhere

So the goal of the project is for everybody to order the same species of NBS orchid, and to see who gets it to bloom first? If I'm indeed correct with that objective, that sounds like great fun!!! What better prize than a plant in bloom?!?!?! When is the decision made as to what species to order?

Not to worry, my friends
The plan is to get a Blooming Sized plant
We will start discussions on March 2nd and it usually takes a few weeks to go through the process. Our plan is to be able to order by mid-April because the weather should be good for orchid deliveries by then for everybody

First time back at this site in quite some time and I've been reading the posts here to learn more about the project. What a great idea! Count me in! I'm looking forward to the opening discussion....hopefully I'm off work that night.

Not to worry...the first discussion is just that...the first of many discussions, in the chat room and in a thread in the forums.
I'm happy to see so many new folks interested in the project...it's gonna be lots of fun

Count me in for the project... my orchids seem to be the only thing flourishing in dark and dismal Washington, PA! My boyfriend and I always talk with our neighbor about all the beautiful places to live, and somebody in past generations decided to settle HERE! WHY?!?!?!?!
