I'm wondering the same thing as Joann!

Joann

Yes, it's still on. I jkust got back from vacation last sunday. The weather was so great while I was away that I hardly touched the computer. Now I'm back, but a bit stuck. Don't have time for OB stuff at work, and there is a problem with my internet connection at home. Someone is coming today to have a look, so hopefully I can get the project going again this weekend.

Got another one *G*

There was a lot of interest in Maxillarias the last project, but we couldn't find one with availability/within price range, so I decided to have a look. Since it's a huge and varied group, I thought I'd try one of the recently re-named groups... so here's the Brasiliorchis *G*

Full Kew List

These are generally still selling as Maxillaria, though some sites might have them as B's.

Europe:

Burnhams (as B's):
schunkeana: nfs £10
picta: Young plants £10

Großräschener:
marginata, fs, Eu 16
picta: Flowering, Eu 18
schunkeana: fs Eu 17

(May be others with them, I stopped looking at that point)

Adding...

Orchideen Lucke:
chrysantha: fs 12.90
picturata (sic, guessing this is a mistranslation of picta?) fs 1490
schunkeana: fs 14.90

Canada:

Paramount:
schunkeana: fs $30 (limited)

Hawaiian Botanicals: (size not stated, I think they do fs?)
marginata: $25 (low)
picta: $17 (currently sold out)
ubatubana: $30

USA:

Andy's (all fs):
graciles: $18
marginata $25/28
phoenicanthera: $25
picta: $25 (usual)/$38 (yellow) (also has some 'species' plants he thinks are picta?)
porphyrostele: $24

(This was the only seller I found them at with a quick search, and graciles was the only one in budget. Andy describes graciles as a mini picta which sounds good! So hope that's enough!)

(I suspect the Camaridium ex-Max's may also have availability, but I have to do other things! So if anyone feels like checking go ahead! Camaridiums

If someone want to take over the project before its too late, go ahead. I have absolutely zero time for it unfortunately, I have way too much going on at work. This also explains my general absence from OB, for those that noticed. I get home late most days, and don't really feel like doing much on the computer other than playing games to relax.

Rowangreen 09-21-2012 07:26 AM

I had a feeling that might be the case... quite understand.

I'd be willing to put up polls and (after first poll) contact sellers. But I don't have time to check everyone has listed size/price/suitability correctly (which I believe Camille usually does). I'm trying to hold down a job and do a degree level course at the same time, so have limited time for this. I guess we could just go to poll? But would be great if someone has the time.

Off out to do some work now...

camille1585 09-21-2012 08:09 AM

Availability does have to be checked (or at least have multiple vendors), especially since stuff may have sold out since we started this in Kuly.
Or we skip this project entirely. They are nice to do, but if people are busy then work/school come first. There's the spring project to look forward to!

Rowangreen 09-21-2012 11:28 AM

OK, hands up whose still interested?

Wynn Dee13 09-21-2012 05:53 PM

I can wait until spring. I have enough plants right now. I'm trying to figure out where they are all going to go since its time to bring them inside. Maybe we can just put this one on hold and start it up again in the spring? We can still use the suggestions for the spring project.

Paul Mc 09-21-2012 06:35 PM

I may still be interested, depending upon what the final one(s) are since space is VERY limited. Lots of stress binging in the past year, lol...

stonedragonfarms 09-22-2012 12:48 AM

I vote we table it until spring. In the process of putting up a gh and super busy now that university is back in session.
Just my 2c,
Adam
