I'm sorry. Have your SO read this thread & see how CUTE S. cernua is. Perhaps a combo BDay, Christmas, Anniversary gift? One gorgeous orchid for all of those dates! That works well with my spouse.

She's usually quite supportive of my crazy impulses, so usually that would fly - her main concerns are space and damage to the fabric of the building - and the possibility we may move (potentially inter-continentally) in the next year.

My hubby is usually very supportive too. But while he would never tell me NO, when the final price for this one was going to be over $50.00 and he isn't impressed with the look of it to begin with, well, there was no support from him on this one. We are in the middle of quite an extensive renovation in our sun room/greenhouse and I am having trouble keeping the 100+ chids happy that I already have. We are having to work around all of them and move them periodically etc. So I will wait for another project after we are finished.
Thanks Camille and others for all the work you did on this one. I've still been following the thread as its still fun to observe from the sideline!
