My cernua var mineira is making a second new growth!
But however I try to get a picture it does not end up well. It is weirdly placed!
So I'll post a photo when it'll be bigger!

New growths are really not easy to take pics of, no matter how they're placed. They're too small!
My little cernua has been a good plant, so as a reward it gets to enjoy a vacation in southern France with me!

Lucky you and your Soph Camille! I wouldn't mind coming along too as I have had enough of the rain and 20°C temps we've been having here most of the time. At least in the south they are having a real summer! ENJOY!!!!!!!

Lucky little soph!
My soph is lagging behind everyone else's. It is still just growing roots. Poor little guy.

Well since I got it....

I've had a load of roots die off. Then it started a couple of new ones. One of those got broken when it got knocked off the shelf and rolled upside down. The other one made it down to medium but now seems to have lost it's growing tip. Still looks healthy and functional otherwise. More recently another one has started. It does have a couple of others still look functional, so I think it's OK but not great.

Photo taken today.

I still have 3 new growths and they are slo...wly growing. Please remind me - will spikes develop from these growths ?
I think Wynn Dee had previously said yes, but what I can't understand is that the plant currently has previously-flowered pbulbs and unflowered pbulbs ( around 5 of each type ). Does this mean that the plant skipped a flowering season as the unflowered pbulbs are the size of the flowered pbulbs ?
I suppose if I wait a few months I will know for sure !

There is no guarantee the new growth will flower just like any other orchid. If it gets what it needs to bloom the new growths will. This is probably one reason you have some pbulbs that have bloomed and some that have not. The plant also might grow a few new growths a year and not all will flower. My plant that flowered in February had three new growths but only one had flowers. My project plant has two leads from last year and only one bloomed. You will just have to wait and see what your plant does when the new growths develop.

The unflowered bulbs could simply be the early bulbs, from when the plqnt was young. As to the current new bulbs, some or all will bloom in the fall or spring, it all depends if you are giving it the right conditions to bloom!
