Well yesterday as I was watering I noticed that I was getting two new growths, one on each lead! I took a tweezers and pulled off the dry sheaths from all of the old p-bulbs so I could see them better. It is also getting lots of new roots. I mounted it on cholla on a bed of spag when I first got it, then a couple weeks later I also stuffed the cholla with it so it would stay a little more moist. It hangs on a panel of lath board on my front porch where it gets lots of light but no sun until very late in the afternoon, even then it is very protected from the sun by the lath.
I have seen pics of other plants that seem to have very shiny leaves, mine doesnt, they seem to be rather tectured how are they supposed to be? It does seem happy tho so should I be concerned?(Sorry no pics)

The leaves on mine (and my previous one) were not shiny. The only time I have seen textured leaves was when they were a bit dehydrated. But my experience is based on 2 plants only!

Thanks Camille, When I got the plant the leaves looked looked like that and I too thought it needed more water. but in spite of getting watered daily it still looks like that....Jean

Could be normal then. Or it got badly dehydrated at some point, and the leaves will never smooth out fully again. Who knows? I'm curious if other plants are like yours.

One of my leaves has this wrinkled look at the base near the pbulb. I just assumed it was dehydration, but don't know it occurred under my watch.

The new leaves shouldn't be textured and they are not shiny. That is my experience. I think if the leaves are wrinkly the plant went through dehydration and the leaves will stay like that. The new growths should be normal. I guess you might have to wait to see what your plants new leaves look like.

Several leaves on mine got wrinkly when it got a little dehydrated in the warmer weather, but after reducing the direct light a little the leaves have smoothed out again. One of the much older leaves is still a little textured, but barely so.
