I don't blame you at all for getting annoyed.. but if they said end of june .. :scratchhead: you still have a week left ?

It's a shame they only send vague messages hopefully you will soon get a message with the shipping link.. (before end june)
:crossfing:
I very much look forward to seeing the plant and blooms in the future.

Sorry, Nenella, it was the silly iPad changing words again... For some reason the autocorrect gets installed on its own all the time (actually, I think my partner turns it on when using my iPad! ;)) they said they sent on June 1st from UK....

I would be mad too! I have bought a yellow cernua and a yellow coccinea from New World Orchids and you wouldn't believe the condition they came in! He gave me a discount because he said they where the last two left of those two varieties and they where a little bit smaller than the others he had, but they where still expensive. They both arrived with no roots and each only had two tiny growths. The worst part was they where so dried up the leaves crumbled off in shipping. There was no way you could get a plant in that condition to grow. They where so tiny they had to be very very young plants. They pretty much came to me dead. I will never buy anything from them again.

I hope you have better luck with yours and it arrives alive. Complain and get your money back if it doesn't. That was the mastake I made. I didn't complain. The funny thing is I hear people on here say great things about NWO. My purchase from them was the worst purchase of an orchid I have ever made. I have never received a plant in such bad condition.

Hi,
Just thought I would post pictures of my project plant. I believe it is growing as compared to the original pictures. I am a happy camper!

Mine hasn't really done much of anything since I've got it. The closed new leaf it came with has opened, but that's it. No sign of root growth. At least it doesn't seem to be declining, I guess.

Temps are almost 100F around here, but I seem to be suffering more than my orchids.

Well, after looking closer at mine, there are roots actively growing if I look at the root tips and judge by their color. Though seems like the consensus here is that it's a slow grower so I'll stop fretting over it and let it do it's thing, lol...

Here's to hopeful blooms!!!!!

Sorry Wyn Dee about your experience with NWO. I have been disappointed at times even with vendors that were usually excellent. My experience with NWO was very good but, then, one of the guys was a speaker at our OS and he brought the ones I pre-ordered. I chose Neos that weren't easy to bloom so he told me this and brought more that were similar to the ones I ordered that were in spike and bloom so I'd be able to have other choices. He even told me my choices were seedlings and the roots left a bit to be desired. This honesty and thoughtfulness really impressed me. I stuck with my choices and all are doing well. My only regret is that I didn't get a few more but spouse was already incredulous at how much I was spending on these tiny plants. Again, sorry about your bad experience. : (

Thanks Leafmite. I'm glad you had a good experience with them. It's different when you know what you are paying for. If I knew the plants were in that condition I wouldn't of bought them. They shouldn't of been sold in that condition in the first place so I felt like they were taking advantage of me. The plants were literally as dried up as an autumn leaf after it has fallen from the tree and is so dry it is crunchy. The leaves actually crumbled in tiny pieces just like a dried maple leaf. I have bought many orchids online from a lot of different sources and these two plants were the worst plants I have ever received. People shouldn't sell dead plants. I won't ever buy anything from them unless I really want a plant I can't get anywhere else and I will have to see the plant first.

Anyway, congrats to everyone with new growth on your cernuas! Any kind of growth is great! Including roots and new growths!

Wow Ramon, I can't believe that! :( Shipping from the UK is incredibly quick, your plants should have arrived weeks ago... I find this altogether weird because when we ordered together a few years ago we had no problems at all.

So my experience with NWO was very good. I had ordered a standard Sedirea japonica along with a Neo. But they ran out of the Sedirea, and gave me a Minmaru type instead, for the same price. I would have been quick happy with that alone, since it's a more expensive form. Glenn apologized for the switch, and gave me a free Neo (Fugaku). So I was very happy with NWO.

Try lightly misting the base of the plant everyday. I often notice on various orchids that it seems to encourage root growth, and coincidence or not, my Soph spouted 8-9 roots since getting it. It doesn't hurt to try at any rate!
