Yay! I would leave the plant alone too, the old roots probably had trouble adjusting to the new potting mix. I also have 2 old roots dying, but there are 5 now quit long new roots, and I spotted 3 more root nubs this morning.

Although I don't have mine left I just wanted to tell you guys that it likes its new home and has really kicked up the developing and growing of roots, and the new owner loves it. This make me feel even better for selling it.

Mmmmm. I keep looking and see no new roots at all. Maybe they are just beneath where I can't see them, or it's still adjusting now that I've hung it outside.

My soph has begun sending out new roots. This is a relief as it hadn't done anything prior to this. I am treating it like my C aclandiae...lots of sun, bare-root mounted, gets watered once a day with a drizzle. It has purple leaves while the C aclandiae has spotted ones so I can tell the smallest C and the soph apart.

Huge progress.

I really havent checked mine in a good two weeks. Just water, fert and kelpak. The water dish I keep mine in has really helped with humidity in the mount. Its running around 75-80% in its immediate area.

Yellow is a new growth and blue is new roots. Im sure there is more but its hard to see. Super excited to see the progress!

I am happy to say that me and medelia both found new growths on our cernua var. mineira.
Though they are supposed to be cooler grower, they are tolerating the blazing heat we have been having recently. (went up to 33 Celsius in the house just today)
The only good point for me is that with the heat comes a rise in humidity.
Roots have also started to grow a few weeks back. Where the plants had been hanging by on or two roots only to their mount they have double them.
I will post pictures of mine later tomorrow.

Great news Josh! I have a growth like yours growing too - it's hidden behind the p/bulb and cork don't think would be visible on a photo. I'll have a go at trying to photograph.

I am getting annoyed... :-( with this project I decided to go as well for a yellow cernua (not my project plant, as that's a standard one, which is currently producing new roots and recovering)... Yellow cernuas are not exactly what I would call a cheap orchid, and it was order from New World Orchids, together with a larger plant of an awarded cernua clon... As of today, I have not received the plants yet... I have contacted NWO and receive only vague messages... In theory, the plants were shipped on June first from UK, but there is no shipping number or so available... instead of using certified post (which is what I would have expected, and what I normally have when I buy orchids) a "safest and fastest" way was used... GMAB!
