whew...I thought you were drowning the vanda...but yes that vanda will do well in a basket, you have a near blooming size or that is quite big for a seedling

I see that you mounted your cernua in a jolla cactus skeleton...you know that you can put some coconut fiber layered with charcoal, lava rock and bark inside the hollow

It doesn't need it every day. It takes around 2 days before it drys out enough if I keep the humidity around 65.

Interesting. I'm now thinking about repotting my Vandas in baskets with sphag so I don't have to water two or more times a day. They are currently in baskets.

Default Vandas

I do have another question....I also have smaller vandas and their roots do hang down out of the baskets. I had been under the impression that the roots just "dangled". Is this possible also?

All Vandas I've seen have roots just dangling.
