Nice haul!! I got a Neostylis Pinky in March, I can't wait to see blooms on it!

For your cernua, according to what other posted before, sphag can work fine. What also seems to work well it to leave them in bark+netpot, and slip the pot into a slightly larger pot to retain moisture around the roots for a bit longer. What I noticed on my now deceased cernua is that it does better if it stays dry too long rather than always stay a bit damp.

That is a great haul you have there, Kalanchoe...and your cernua has good root system. Its wise that you repotted it because the media is decaying.

I just reread the entire thread in order to pick out all the culture info, and I think you just got unlucky. Others that ordered at HB posted pics of nice healthy plants, or at least had no complaints.

Ok, and now it's my turn to introduce Ms. cernua to you...

A newly imported plant that needs some especial treatment to induce rooting... A bath with rooting hormones and sphagnum:

KalanChoe- I grow a cernua in New Zealand spaghnum moss in a clay pot and it does great. It's only a 2 1/2 inch pot and the moss dries out quickly. If you are growing inside on windowsills with the air conditioning on it will dry the plants out fast I would think. I dont know what kind of humidity you have but mine doesn't go below 50% and it usually is a round 65%. I just transplanted mine and it has tons of roots. I potted it back in new moss and the new moss dries out in a less than two days. When the moss gets a little older it dries out a little slower but still fast enough without rotting the plant. But I put a packing peanut in the bottom of the pot and don't pack the moss tightly. I would think in a net pot the moss will dry out faster than a clay pot. It all depends on humidity and how often you water.

I got a didieri too and it has 3 buds on it and one is pretty far along. I hope it blooms! One of them looks like it has been there a while and is stalled. I read on the forum somewhere that they can do that and it takes a while from bump to actual flower.

Good luck and you have some nice plants!

Smile Nice bathtub!

Plants look good! Really like the "jet-tub". What rooting hormone do you use?

I thoroughly looked over all the plants I got from HB (5) and no spider mites or evidence of it on any my plants. Ive also purchased plants from HB in person and all their plants were very healthy looking.
