I'm interested in seeing what he says for sure. I know he posted a few tips in the suggestions thread but I can't find it.

Josh- Go to the very first post on the first page in this thread. It is from Camille. Under the US grower list there is a link to the page that has Chaz Smith's first post.

Here is my S.cernua. I got it yesterday. I bought it from Peter Lin of Diamond Orchids. It's TC's were Aerangis fastuosa, Aerangis punctata, Aerangis distincta, and Angraecum didieri.

Yeah I have bought many plants from him over the years. They all have been very nice plants.

Nice plants all of you! Bud, yours is pretty big!! I don't expect mine to be anywhere near that size. It's not blooming size, and seeing the price (13€) I don't expect something large.

Paul- there's no medium in the net pot? Bark should be good enough for this one.

In the last thread I talked about an idea I had for keeping a mounted orchid. Since it looks like I'm getting potted, and will probably keep it that way for at least a while, I thought I'd post my idea again in case it's of any use to anyone.

Basically my idea was to use a plastic storage box to hang a mount and catch any drips. I think size and shape of the box would depend what you are putting in it, where it would go etc. But I think possibly some boxes designed for food storage (eg pasta) might actually work well for one mount. I also intended to cut a big window and maybe additional ventilation holes (and use a narrow box that would sit on a shelf) to avoid the need for a fan inside.

For actually hanging stuff you could use either a wire, with maybe large buttons on the outside of the box to hold the ends, or a dowel with screws through the box and the ends.

Probably not pretty, but I think it could be neat and practical... Here's a sketch:

I was actually intending to compile all the growing info at the start of the thread. I had planned to do it tomorrow or maybe this evening.

you need to build a couple and I will take one ! I have a problem with water spillage/spray. If I am spraying with fertiliser, I take the mounts to the shower to try and limit the damage to the carpet.........the wooden flooring.......the walls.....the atmosphere !
