WOW guys really Good growing! I only have the 2 shoots/growths that have grown since I have had it left (with their couple of roots) all others are slowly drying up ... don't know if it will make it in the long run - not looking so hot.

My cernua is doing great so far. Nenella, it's the soph I got at the same as cerua which is doing exactly like yours. Not much growing, roots dying, growths dying...

camille1585 02-02-2013 04:43 PM

My cernua sure is making up for the lack of blooms, 3 new growths have started!! :) Interesting that it's going through 2 growths cycles in a year.

Rowangreen 02-02-2013 07:24 PM

Camille, is that 3 plus the 2 you had before? If so I hate your plant! Mine still only has the one growth. I think it's trying to grow a root... difficult to see now I have it potted lower.

How does one take part in the next project?

Are these multiple growths off of each older growth or do you have a larger division? Mine is a little division but I am going to have a discussion with it about how we need to prove something...or maybe I should just take better care of it this summer. :|

Wow, mine has stopped all new growth after 2 new leaves. The roots look a bit sad though. Not sure what to think at this point, lol...

camille1585 02-03-2013 05:25 AM

My plant isn't a division, and was 1 year to BS when I got it. Shortly after it arrived, it started 2 growths off the most mature of the existing ones. Those 2 growths matured in the fall. Now it's both of those that are making new growths. I'm not sure, but I think there might be a 4th growth nubbin starting to swell up under the brown papery covering of the bulb. I also think that the plant just really enjoys the pot it's in. It holds more moisture than if it were mounted, but all the holes make dry it out quickly and evenly.

When a new project starts there's a sign up thread for it. IF there is a project this spring. With nearly 40 US members participating each time it gets very hard to find enough of a single plant in the US.

Rowangreen 02-03-2013 08:17 AM

Ordphien, there's a discussion for a possible different kind of project ongoing:

That is one happy little Soph Camille! With so many new growths and two growth cycles in one year it is bound to bloom soon. :crossfing

Mine finished blooming and is now doing nothing at all. I keep staring at it waiting to see new growth. Perhaps when it warms up a little! Lousy, cold, miserable, weather!
