After thinking I would go ahead and get one, I've changed my mind again. Once the total was added up it came to $54.40 to get the plant here. The plant was $30.00 packing was $8.00 which included a heat pack, then taxes, then $14.00 plus tax to ship it here. By then the price was nearly doubled and I just couldn't see the point of paying that much. I can get a medium seedling from Cloud's but that would be likely 2 years to bloom, so think I will sit it out in the end.

Why not get the one at Cloud's then? I can understand if costs are an issue. Even if yours is 2 years from blooming you can still share culture notes with us.

Getting one at Clouds might be a good option! The soph won't bloom until spring, anyway.

Just a correction, it's not a warm-hot grower, I've heard from several growers that they grow intermediate. ;)

Good! If it doesn't catch the black plague...black rot, it should be fine. I'll just hang it a little further from the window in the winter.

That's what my previous one died of, but only because I left the poor thing out in pouring rain for a week! I brought in the other orchids, but didn't notice the tiny mount hanging on the wall.

There are indeed some plants that like it warm, however they are rarel found offered in the market, ue to the especial needs... Most of the plants you find offered are intermediate or intermediate/cool (e.g. var. mineira)
