I have two out of four buds open but who knows when I will have time to take more pictures? My dogs both took an interest in the orchid...perhaps they thought the mount would be fun to chew?

Yours did so well on the mount. Mine didn't. Mine did better in the pot. I love those dogs. How cute. You just want to hug them....at least I do! LOLOLOL Beautiful flowers.

Thanks! The dogs like to smell the flowers but, otherwise, they never touch the plants. I find the different ways these are grown to be amazing.

Me too. Right now I have about 7 different orchids in bud and I can't wait to see what is going to happen. I have them in the sunroom with a heater on keeping the temp at about 70 degrees. We just had a snowstorm and it is beautiful out there but nice and cozy inside. Just got done watering everyone and talking to them!

I find it can be a challege to figure out what plants really want/need in less than ideal conditions (by the windows, Ohio). The soph, thankfully, is willing to humor me.

I know what you mean. My husband put recessed lighting in the sunroom and then instead of regular lightbulbs he put grow lights in and I think it has made quite a difference. He also built tables with drawers and I have my orchids on them. It has worked out well. Some orchids just don't make it though. I have east, south, and western exposure. I also have African violets on the western window sills.
