So I just paid for my order. I bought mine from Peter Lin of Diamond Orchids. I had the choice of the cernua being potted or mounted but Peter said he finds they grow better mounted so I got the mounted one. It's TC's are:
Aerangis fastuosa Aerangis punctata Angraecum didieri He is going to ship them Tuesday so I should get them Friday! I think I'm going to order a few friends for them from Andy's too. He has some plants I have been wanting for a long time. |
Looks like a great bunch of plants, Wynn Dee. I ordered from Al's.

I'm still waiting to order. I've been meaning to order from Schwerter, so I emailed them to see if they had the Soph by any chance. Hopefully I'll get a reply tomorrow. Even if they do have it I'll still be ordering 2-3 plants from Elsner, and another 3-5 from Claessen in the Netherlands.

I've been wanting a dendrobium aggregatum, paph delentalii, psygmorchis pusilla, and a second Cattleya aclandiae since the last time I ordered from Al's so, for me, this was the perfect opportunity. : )

I ordered today my little cernua var mineira. Her only TC is another cernua var mineiea for Medelia who wanted in the project with permission of Camille!
But since new arrival makes friend easier with new arrivals, I ordered phal honghenensis (braceana) and phal parishii from Cloud.... but since these would have been lonly too, Medelia took anther two plants and another friend from the organisation ordered threw us a paraphalaenopsis from Cloud... Why not right? LOL! |
Your thinking is so clear to all of us! Way to go!

Mounted - some action
I have mine mounted, no moss. Today I noticed a green growth emerging ! This is after a resumption of the almost daily misting.......there was a break of about a week when we were away on vacation and my waterer forgot to water this one. It looked to me like most roots died, a little bulb also died......but TLC has since worked.
For those that worry about a mount and how to hang it....a while back I came across an idea to display mounts. You fill a decorative bottle with sand, shells etc ( like an olive oil bottle ). Recap it. Drill a tiny hole thru the cap and then push thru one of those plant upports, they're green and have a semi-circular support at the top. They also come in various heights. You then wire a loop in the mount and thread it onto the semi-circular piece of the support. The bottle, being heavy, gives adequate support.........and you have a nice display as well as grow-aid.You can have a higher plant support and then display more of the bottle, shells, marbles etc. One of these days I will take photos ! yep, it may be far easier than explainin ! |
