I thought the surcharge was in addition to shipping and handling. I do agree, though, some of the handling charges can be outrageously high. After ordering non-orchids from one place and ordering orchids from a very good smaller orchid vendor, I was rather surprised to see how much better these places packed the plants for so much less a packing charge. Wow. As a result, I won't order from companies that are out of range for handling.

My TC wish list just added another member:

dendrobium cyanocentrum - Google Search

I guess that's what you get for cruising orchid shop sites while waiting... The only listing though in Europe seems to be the flask list at Equatorial Plants, which looks like it's not up to date. So maybe I'm safe. I think I might be emailing them though... lol

That is cute out of bloom and yet has a pretty flower. Amazing. I can see why you want it. Good luck!

Chants: I cannot get flasks, I've only been growing orchids a year, I cannot get flasks...

if you order from Popow or Elsner, you can ask them first whether they still have some plants... They use to have this especies on stock all the time...

I didn't hear from any more, so Bob and Wynn Dee called some for me. Now the only thing between us and the poll is Paramount Orchids, because 2 plants are listed as 'limited' there, so I hope they have 6 of them! A canadian member has taken care of contacting them. He called early in the week, but the owner was out until Thursday (and apparently employees are incapable of going to count plants). If he doesn't get an email back from Paramount today, he will call them tomorrow.

I know. Doesn't sound like it would be that difficult to go to the greenhouse, find it and count.

Carter and Holmes, on the other hand, have been VERY helpful and kind. Same with Cal-orchids, Bob says the guy he spoke to was super enthousiastic about the project.
