The huge number of US participants is making this very very difficult. I think that this is going to have to be a 2 plant project if a plant other than the Soph or Angraecum wins.

Hi Camille,
J&L has sumatranum listed separately. Are they saying that both the lobbii and sumatranum are sold out?
Also Clackamas has the bulbo according to their website. I'll check a couple others.

I wouldn't mind a two plant project. Then we could get one or the other or both! Also I wouldn't mind paying $25 for the Phal. But I guess we have to make a limit somewhere or it would get crazy. Species plants can be expensive though especially blooming size. I will go with whatever everyone else wants to do.

I think J & L said they have enough of the sumatranum but are sold out of lobbii. The only thing about Clackamas is that they are divisions so I doubt they will have 30 of them. But I guess some people could get one or the other since they are supposed to be synonyms. I like the lobbii better.

Me too, I wish I could get the poll up now, but it's not up to me!

Yes, J&L is sold out of lobbii, but has over 30 of sumatranum. They don't need to be all at the same vendor, as long as there are 34 of them SOMEWHERE. Someone PMed me to say that they know a good local grower (Fantasy Orchids) who has 20 lobbii in stock, though not on their website.
People can buy where ever they want, but it's good to be able to guarantee the availability.
If I don't get the other replies by the end of the week, some one will have to call for me.

Happy B-day, Eahonn. Go buy an orchid and that is an order! (Now you have a good excuse.)

Got two more replies today, from Hausermann and Forestview in Canada. Still looking like it's going to be a 2 plant project, no one seems to have more than 10-20 of anything.
I think the Paph may be out, Hausermann's plants are 2 years from blooming, and it depends how many Carter & Holmes have.

Thanks for all you are doing, Camille.

You may get lucky, since the Phal is out and maybe also the Paph, so I'm asking around about Paph delenatii. It was tied for 8th in the first poll.
