It could be because it "won" the first poll by such a margin that I think we might have a hard time imagine another potential winner.

I hope I get the email replies quickly, so that the poll can go up quickly! And I think that this time I'll keep the poll open only 3-4 days, nearly everyone votes in the first day anyways!

I'm wanting to order from Paramount because they have some goodies that I can't get in the US so I'm okay with waiting....patiently waiting...
I have a cernua already that I got from Mountain Orchids (they specialize in cool growers). I want to get another one to see if it will be more vigorous. This one blooms reliably on its mount but I never get more than one bloom. I'm thinking that it is just not a vigorous plant. Some are better than others.
If you are looking for some cool growers, check out Mountain Orchids. They are FAB and I've ordered from them twice. I got some really neat minis from them. Their shipping is decent too.

Well, I skipped voting on the first poll because my name wasn't on the list yet and I didn't want to skew the results, but that's a nice group of plants right there!
And since I was already planning to order form both Hawaiian Botanicals and Paramount Orchids, it's all very convinient for me! My only problem would be if the Den. lawesii would be picked, it looks awesome and I can meet it's culture requirement, but the pendant canes might make it a bit too much of a space hog for me
Can't wait for the plant to be chosen (though I'll probably order the soph. cernua anyway, what a beauty even if it's not fragrant!)

If the Den. lawesii wins you should still try it. If the hanging canes take up too much room you could always stake them up or use a ring stake to hold them up. I know what you mean about space issues though! I also have that problem. You can never have enough good growing space!

I have a BS lawesii and the canes are no longer than 12" It is Den lawesii 'Pololei' x lawesii 'Waterfield'. Sometimes it depends on the plant.

Oh, I'll probably try it against my better judgement then if it's chosen hehe, because I really want to be part of the project. I didn't consider staking at first because the picture on the IOSPE of it naturally hanging down in a basket is so darn awesome. I really need more lights, and shelves... and a greenhouse or 3...
Currently nearly reaching my space limits with 30 'chids since I can only grow in one room. Don't think I'll be able to go past 50. I need to hurry up and win the lottery already! Especially since there's another show I'll attend next week...

Melanie, I felt that way at 30 or so chids, but I still feel that way now with over 200. Trust me, you will always find room for one more chid.
