Clackamas Orchids has Ceratostylis rubra/retisquama seedlings for $7.50 if it's chosen and anyone wants a cheaper option. I got one last year and it's up to what seems to be the small end of blooming size (though no flowers yet for me). I grow it moist (still potted in bark or whatever it came in), medium-bright, and with temps from 58-85 F; pretty easygoing so far.

The Ceratostylis will go on the list, but only because all the research on it is done. Any other suggestions from now on will not count, since after work I'm putting together the poll.

Poll will be up in an hour or so!!

But unfortunately for me I think I may to sit out on this project, unless the plant is available in the Netherlands, so cheap shipping for me. I just took my guinea pig to the vet for a skin issue he has, and the consult and skin scrappings for the lab cost me a huge chunk of cash. And that's not even including whatever medication he will need when the results are back. Pets come first, but I'm bummed, the timing couldn't be worse!

How annoying! I'm probably not going to be able to buy till May (if then!) so maybe you could join me?

Hope it's nothing too serious with the gp. We had loads of them when I was a kid, generally very healthy though.

Aww I so sorry Camille!!!! Maybe we should narrow it down to plants available in the Netherlands! After you spent so much time doing this its NOT FAIR for you to miss out!!

What does everyone else think?? Should we limit it to plants available in the Netherlands? Because Camille spent hours upon hours unselfishly slaving over a computer and now she might not even get to participate!!!!!!!

Don't worry, I think the best is to wait and see which plant wins, and how much it costs. Claessen (my favorite dutch grower) and Wubben (a grower an hour away) have good catalogues, so there's a fair chance that I can buy the plant at one of the two.

I also had completely forgotten that in May I will get my holiday bonus along with my salary, so maybe I'll just wait until May to get the plant. And I'm also going to a local show on May 12th, perhaps I can get it there.

What massively sucks though is that I have a 100€ order planned out at Schwerter, and I was just waiting to know if the project plant was available there before ordering. Looks like I'll have to postpone that order a few months.
