The price limitation for US vendors is $20

I love the look of that lycaste aromatica! But it's out the price range too.

Aerangis biloba
Aerangis mystacidii
Amesiella monticola
Angraecum leonis
Dendrobium wassellii
Dendrobium anceps
Dendrobium striolatum
Guarianthe (Cattleya) skinneri
Helcia sanguinolenta
Cattleya (Laelia) lundii
Maxillaria variabilis
Microterangis (Chamaengis) hariotiana
Pholidota chinensis
Rhyncholaelia (Brassavola) glauca

All available from Botanica Ltd. at blooming size for around or less than $20. A couple go over but not by much. As far as I know these are fairly petite and should be okay at intermediate temps; I grow a few of them that IOSPE lists as 'warm to hot' with winter nights in the low 50s F and it doesn't seem to faze them.

If I have time later I'll go through and check for them at EU and CN nurseries; surely something on this list is available everywhere... If anyone feels energetic don't hesitate to look them up yourself, I won't mind!

Helcia sanguinolenta - FS $28.00
Cattleya (Laelia) lundii - FS $26.00

This is per Paramount's website which is usually up to date.

How about Angraecum didieri? I found it at Andy's for $20, Oak Hill for $15, Orchids by Hausermann for $12.99, Orchids in our Tropics for $35(Canadian), and Popow Orchids.

I was also thinking Dendrobium toressae. Andy has it for $20. I also found it at an European nursery. I could not find it in Canada though, but someone said some of the websites are out dated so maybe they could find it.

How do I add a link like Isope photos to my post? I'm using my IPhone to post. I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Thanks silken! Sounds like there may be some good options if they're available in EU.

Great suggestions, Wynn Dee! Those are both really nice minis. Can't help you with creating links from an iphone, I only know how to do it on my computer.

Paramount has it Flowering size for $28.00 but in limited quantities. However, there aren't that many Canadians so that may not be a problem.

How about Den. chrysotoxum? Paramount has it for $28-$30 near FS and Oak Hill gardens has it for $20.00. Or Dendrobium miyakei (goldschmidtianum) which Paramount has for $28.00 to $30.00. I found it at Andy's but it was $38.00. Hauserman has it for $12.99 in a 2.25" pot. Couldn't find it at Oak Hill.

Both of those Dendrobiums are beautiful but I read that they can get quite large. Might be an issue for those of us who grow under lights or windows in the home.

Could anyone tell me how to quote someone in my post. I'm new to the forum so I don't know how to work anything!

Wynn Dee

Claessen is my all time favorite grower! Super nice, helpful people as well, I met them a few times at dutch shows. I didn't add them to the grower list since they only ship to countries bordering NL: Belgium and Germany. But if the project plant comes from there, I don't mind ordering for several people.
