I'm also a bit cautious about all these unknown growers you are posting. These are not ones that I come across regularily, if at all, in the forums. No, I don't live in the US, but seeing the amount of time I spend online I'm quite familiar with the good growers.
Also, I think Den lawesii may have to come off the list. The plant can grow to 18 inches, and it depends a lot on the clone. You must have one of the more compact growers.

I just realized that Phal mannii is in the 'not good' list. I've had one for two years, and it grows extremely well in intermediate conditions, even on the cool side of intermediate in the winter. It's spiking now And it's easily available in various color forms.
IOSPE PHOTOS
USA- Oakhill $10 (aurea form), Hausermann's $10
Canada- Paramount $30
EU-- Schwerter 13€ (standard and 'black'), Nardotto 14€ (black and flava)
Same with cornu cervi, it should do well intermediate. I'll look up growers later

Re the bulbos: I just read a page somewhere where someone had what they thought was a Lobbii, and apparently it stank terribly..
With all the confusion, is it really worth the risk?

As for the bulbos, since both species are quite similar and (I think) it is easier to fin lobbi than sumatranum, I would not mind keeping only one of them...
As for the fragrance... Hehe... Bulbos are well known for that, however it is nothing that you cannot stand, as you (first) really need to get very close to them and (second) the fragrance is not that bad anyway... Ok, this applies to most species, some of the, can really go bad... :-)))))
Lobbii, some plants are not fragrant at all, and the others (at least the ones I know) have kind of a spicy fragrance, not nice but also not bad.. Just different...

How about we keep lobbii only, but as a note add that it can substituted by sumatranum? It'll be similar to allowing different color forms of a same species, and that way if people have a lobbii already, they can get the other one.

I would agree with this idea :-) furthermore, lobbii seems to be very variable regarding colors, from just yellowish/brownish to yellow and red or yellow and orange, and depending of the origin, it could also have some purple... It is actually a very nice and interesting Bulbophyllum

Had a thought re the 'flowering size seedlings' (forgotten which they were!) Maybe they meant the plants were grown from seed rather than clone/division?

I suggested. Both of these towards the beginning or middle of this thread, i you go back to my post there are vendors for us, eu, and ca for both mannii and Cornu-cervi. I would do it but I have to leave, If nobody has gotten to it when I get back, I'll dig it up

Hi Camille,
Sorry, I was just giving you all of the options. If an orchid makes it to the poll, not everyone will necessarily buy from the same vendor just because of the project price. Some will go with a vendor they may have ordered from before or has the TCs they want.
I may not be on the OB as much as I used to because I'm doing my MBA but any grower that I list has either come to our society and spoken, I have purchased from personally, or friends in the Memphis Orchid Society have purchased from them.
The MOS is a big society and most have been growing over 15 years. They know a lot of growers that I have never seen posted on OB. Two of my friends in the MOS are AOS learner judges and I have been a scribe for three years (last year for the Mid-America Orchid Congress which we hosted at MOS). My husband is responsible for the orchids at the Memphis Botanic Gardens.
Diamond Orchids - Peter is an AOS judge.
New World - Dr Lehr is an international judge and posts on OB as Fuukiran. In fact he wrote a lot of the information on the Neo forum here.
Again, I was only trying to help by expanding the orchid list.
