Camille, I also found Aerangis fastuosa in the USA at Cal-Orchid for $20 blooming size. I think someone else said they also found it at Oak Hill for $18 blooming size.

Ok, good!! It's such a cute, a very sweet smelling orchid. I need another one, the one I have is mounted and not doing so well. I want to try again, but in a pot!

I have a seedling in a clay pot with New Zealand spaghnum moss and it is doing really well. But I would love to get a blooming size plant!

Santa Barbara Orchid Estate lists it as a temperature tolerant one, and they say that they grow it outside with the cyms and Mexican Laelias. So it may not be as cold growing as IOSPE indicates. Some further googling shows though that it doesn't seem to like temps any higher than the 70s.

That's what happens when I only check the pics and forget to read the info...

Paramount says for Enc. vitellina:"intermediate conditions are preferable for growing this plant well"

I've sent a message to an experienced hobby grower that has one of these and asked about its conditions. She's growing it intermediate if I've understood it correctly. Let's see when she has time to respond, or if she will at all. I think she's a busy person.

About the deb aggregation Camille, i guess my question was more "why is winter rest considered not to fit requirements" But I guess winter rest can sometimes imply colder. I think the aggregation just needs water restriction.
As for vitellina, mutant let us know what she says! This one almost won the poll last year, so I know they deemed it appropriate as to culture. I hope we do to, because I want to get one so bad! Bad enough that im going to be on the hunt for one at the long wood show this weekend! So I hope it gets picked!!!
I found this on another forum in answer to questions regarding temps for E. vitellina

I had one years ago that I grew in my un-airconditioned apartment in Queens, NY. Summers regularly got into the 80's and it did not bother it at all. It bloomed twice a year for me. Sadly, I gave it away for some reason and have never been able to find another one.
