Depends if anyone wants to organize it. I wouldn't mind, since I've done 2 in the past. Though not all alone, since my PhD dissertation is due next summer... Usually these things are decided on early in the year.

Rosie explains it very well here: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ct-plants.html

Though last project was a flask or seedling I think. Because more and more people join the projects it often gets to be a headache to find sufficient numbers of each candidate plant. So we need to adapt the concept a bit when there are many people. Like picking multiple plants....

I would be interested. A good idea would be to pick different plant types to vote from like dendros, vandas, ect. then vote on the plants within that. Then ppl can choose which plant they want to try and that can narrow down how many ppl searching for one plant!

I can help but I dont know how to organize one properly. I think we should have one plant for each climate (cool, intermediate, warm) then, everyone can particpate!

That does sound like a good idea, we would need to find a species that no participants currently grow. And it would need to be one readily available.

Camille, would you be able to help with the initial planning and assist on the UK supplier end?
I'd be happy to help manage posts and also to organize the lists. Also I could cover contacting the US suppliers .

Finding a species that nobody grows is impossible. it was done in the early years when there were only a dozen participants, but now it's frequently up to 50-60 people. People who already have the winning plant either understand the situation and opt out of the project, or go ahead and buy a second plant!

Sounds good to me, I usually cover the European side of the project anyway.

Anyway, spring is still a long way off....
