I have finally been able to make my choice! Leptotes!!!
My heart still belongs to the Masdie - but I figured that is one that I would probably buy myself anyway. Everyone should have one!! And the one in the poll is a great one to have.
I chose the Leptotes because it is one that I wouldn't normally get myself, wouldn't even have looked at if it weren't for this project.
The other good news is - if the Aerangis does win - Joyce Stewart is coming to speak at the local orchid society meeting in October. If anyone knows Aerangis, it is Mrs. Stewart. Hopefully, I will not have killed mine off before then!!

Tom from Parkside replied to my email and says that he will be able to supply us with the amount we need if it should win. They're having their big festival this weekend so he and I will speak again next week.

With 37 votes cast (70%):
Aerangis is out of the gate fast (14) followed by Leptotes (8) and Masdevallia (8).
In a distant 3rd is Cattleya intermedia (3).
With 16 votes left (including mine) it could still be a close race. Even C interedia and my first choice still have a chance!!!!!

Less than 15 people still to vote.... but still an open race -
the Masdie is only 5 votes behind, Leptotes six votes behind. Still enough people left to bring either of these two into the lead - it may come down to the last few votes.
Isn't this exciting?!
PS. Everyone vote Leptotes!!

Even though I voted for the Masdie, I'm actually hoping it does not win...it is going to be VERY hard to get the amount we need here in the States.
By the way, are you all aware of the fact that you can see who voted for what if you click on any of the numbers in the poll? While looking, ignore the fact that the number of names listed may not match the number of votes counted for a particular plant. I can go in and adjust the number when a non-participating OB member votes but I can't remove the name

So, did you remove my vote for the rhodosticta? Silly me, I didn't sign up as a project member. When I voted, I only saw the poll; there was no warning for non-members.
The candidates look like great choices though so no matter what wins, you all win!

Yes, I removed it...don't worry, you weren't the only one
You can still get in on the project, if you'd like to
