I sent a PM to Phalguy a couple days ago about something else and haven't heard back from him yet. He might be out of town?

BTW, I like white flowers. I think they are very elegant. I too am burned out on pink & purple.

I think Tricho (in Portugal) is away also. No posts recently, and probably one of the reasons for not participating in the chats.

Here's an update:

A few of the last folks have placed their votes...and unfortunately Phalguy has decided to bow out

That leaves us with 5 members yet to vote...

...there's no way for anything other than

Aerangis rhodosticta to win!

I need confirmation from Rhonda_n_FL and Greenman so I know how many plants to tell the vendor we need.

I'll be working on that tomorrow

Susanne, when you talk to the guy at Parkside would you ask him if they come in pots or mounted. I would prefer mine in a pot if possible.

Thanks to you and D for all your hard work on this. Now to narrow down my list of TCs!

Okay folks...here's the next hurdle:

I've found the Aerangis rhodosticta at:

Parkside $30 - you can choose mounted or potted
*Tom says he'll be able to supply us with the amount we need. We know from our previous project (#3) that Parkside has wonderful plants and their packing is superb.

Oak Hill Gardens $18 - comes only as a mounted plant.
We know from experience in Project #2 the quality and standard of packing that Oak Hill gives. Wonderful!!!

Hoosier $26 - Mounted plants are Near Blooming Size
- Potted plants are Blooming Size
*I have no personal experience with them but have heard great things. Anybody out there have an opinion?

Botanical Ltd $30 - Mounted only
*Got this one from Steven (IdahoOrchid)...thanks Steven Again, I haven't dealt with them.

Of course, there is also OrchidWeb, which is the page we've got posted for info purposes...price is $35, no idea of whether it's mounted or potted. Also never dealt with them

Of these five, I've only confirmed with Parkside availability for the amount we'll need.

As some people do not want their plants mounted, I think the other one I contact tomorrow will be Hoosier as we have a choice there. I'll post something as soon as I get an answer from them.

Has anybody seen them elsewhere, with a choice of potted or mounted, or just potted?

Hi Sue, If your asking us who we should use, I fine with Parkside. I personally would like a mount but I know some or most want it potted. I will be happy with what the majority wants

I'd like to go with Parkside too...just want to get the majority opinion

I'm going to send out one last (hopefully) PM to everybody in the U.S. regarding the project.

I need to confirm who is going to take the next step and actually purchase this plant. I have to have an exact number when I'm requesting that a vendor put aside a certain amount, in the same stage of growth for us.

I need a reply to each of those PMs...thanks in advance

I have confirmation from one vendor that they have enough plants of the same size mounted on cork available for those members in Europe. I am waiting to hear back from one other place (that is easier to order from, as they have on-line ordering as well - the place I have confirmation from has an online list, but not an on-line shop).

I will keep everyone posted.

Susanne: I know that Andy's Orchids has this plant too and it comes on a slab for I believe $24. Don't know if he has enough to do all but, I really like his packing and quality of plants. I just got a rather large order from him and was nothing but happy. Might be one to look into.
