Trichoglottis brachiata (Project 13 - Summer 2011)

mine grew 2 slightly smaller leaves since i had gotten it and i just assumed that it was a bit less than happy and did my best to improve its culture ( i have been doing vase culture, but i frankly dont water it enough)
now i just got back from a vacation to see another full new leaf and a 2nd on the way both are considerably larger than the normals ones (not just the slightly smaller ones since i have had it. al the leaves it had on it (maybe 14-18) when i got it were very very uniform in size, not getting bigger as the plant got longer,

so any idea what would cause a set of jumbo leaves?

it has been outside in the very muggy and very warm DC summer with its roots in a huge brandy like glass, its gets sun in the afternoon, but it under a overhang, is not showing signs of anything in particular besides the leaves.
