Well, bummer. They turned out to be new growths and not spikes. Okay, I give up. This was obviously not a BS plant. I have now had it 4 years and nothing. I am going to make room for a different plant and either throw this one or re-home it.
You might want to hang on to it a bit longer. They apparently need to be about 18" tall to bloom. Mine threw a keiki last year and is about 18" this year. Their bloom season is late summer-early fall.

I have / and have had, plants longer than 4 years before seeing them bloom.. (Unless we kill them before. I wish I hadn't killed mine!)
