I found all of them in EU. I also was going to suggest the Bulbo but thought it may be to difficult to grow, being they like swamp type conditions.

Alright guys, I know that I may not be able to participate in the summer 2011 project, but I did want to give you guys a heads up.

I would seriously forego the Huntleya maleagris for this project, imho. It could be tough for most people to get it going properly, particularly if people either have very limited experience with plants belonging to the Huntleya clade, or if they have very limited experience in orchid growing in general.

If you guys want to attempt Huntleya maleagris on your own, that's fine, but for a project like this, it might be too much.

Unless you guys decide, "To hell with it! I don't care how difficult these plants are to grow. I'll make do and figure it out as part of the project, even if I quite possibly might end up bombing."

My .

Thanks Philip.

I threw it in because it looked neat. Maybe later for an advanced project.

Yeah, Huntleya maleagris is a neat orchid with interesting flowers.

If there is an advanced project later down the line, I might see if I can join in. There are certainly some plants that I'd like to grow that fall into this category.

You guys ever consider Cycnoches spp., Catasetum spp., or Mormodes spp.?

Maybe even Cyrtopodium spp.?

All of the above are not that difficult to grow, but can still present a bit of a challenge. Many don't get very large either. Beautiful in or out of bloom.

Perhaps Isochilus spp.?

Maybe Kollensteinia spp.?

What about some of the smaller Bulbophyllums like Bulb. odoratissimum? This is fragrant - it doesn't stink.

Bulb. frostii is fragrant.

Bulb. plumatum (aka Bulb. jacobsonii) is a nice one. I think it might be fragrant, I forgot.

Bulb. psychoon is an easy one to start with, but they smell like dried fish left out in the sun only when you stick your nose right up to the flowers.
