My replacement plant is so far not as free flowering as the original one. The original was always spiking, while this one just grows and grows. Nice, but a spike would be great!

Hopefully yours will grow to a point it becomes free flowering again. I'm pretty sure mine just grew for a while before it got to flowering as much as now.

The new one is already twice as big as the old one though. Could just be genetic variation within the species though, and some populations flower earlier?more often than others.

Wow Rosie, yours is looking amazing! Mine's just coming into spike again and is doing ok, though I think it might be getting more/ too much light in comparison to yours as the leaves on mine are a lot lighter

Very nice Rosie! My plant finished flowering about 3 weeks ago with 2 spikes this time.

Some vandaceous orchids can take 300 days for the pod to ripen.

Can't believe it! Think I see spikes on mine AGAIN!
Could be 3 spikes, two on the main growth and one on one of the basil keikis!
