Woo hoo zxyqu! The one on the right does look like a spike and, I feel you can take more credit for yours than I can for mine! (after all, all I did was get it from spike stage to bloom stage!)

Well, my nubbin is shaping up to be a spike!! I'm so excited. The first spike is starting to change too. It's getting fatter at the tip. I can't wait to see it bloom!

Saw something interesting on my Gastro that I thought I would ask about. I know ivy and other vines grow little feet to grip surfaces. I guess it shouldn't surprise me though that orchids can do the same. Either way, I thought it was cool. (And hopefully that's what this is, and it's not some horrible fungal problem that I'm overlooking... )

Yup. It makes sense, I'd just never seen it, heard of it, or knew about it. Very Cool.

I've never seen that either, and I've got plenty of happily mounted plants growing new roots! Maybe I need to look closer? Great photo of the little 'feet'.

I've seen that sort of thing on phal roots before. Not seen it on the gastro, but as the roots are a similar type it would not surprise me. I've never really known it's purpose, but whatever it is I would say it's pretty normal for the ones with these sort of vandaceous roots.

I love the little feet! Growing everything in pots, you don't get to see things like that!
All my flowers are out now no scent that I can tell, but they do look very pretty. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get on here just now (as I haven't been able to log on for a couple of days), so I've not hooked up my camera yet! I'll post some picts later though (assuming I can make it back!)

I can't wait to see your pics! Mine's on it's way, but still no flower buds formed yet.

The first two pics are a bit dark, but you can see the speckles on the inside of the lip. The others, well, I couldn't decide which shot was best, so I uploaded all of them!
