Ok, so finally I think I can make a call on one of the nubbins, and probably both of them. The newest one, Right side of the Pic has got to be a spike. It's a little mitteny, and it's growing much faster than the other nubbin, hence I now suspect it's a root. There's also a new leaf that's been growing since about 2 weeks after I got it.
And, since this spike grew after I received it, I'm taking full credit. (Unless of course it fails to bloom, and then I'll blame transport conditions etc...)
