Can't wait for mine.

On an off topic note. I just discovered that two of my noid phals are fragrant!!! Yay! Both are white. One smells really strongly JUST like gardenia. And one smells not as strongly ( yet still pretty strong) like a mix of sedirea japonica and neofinetia falcata! I'm in heaven!

You can call me Bob

"have no fear, help is here!"

Call me stupid but how do you get half a spike?
It is most definitely better than no spike.

I would call it 2 spikes! That sounds so much better than half a spike.

Ha ha, sorry, that's just me being me! The 'half spike' is simply smaller than the other. I've just done a couple of close-ups, not brilliant, but the best my poor little camera can do

Oh WOW, you guys do have flower stalks coming! Mine does not yet although there is a small root like formation that still is all green. But since it's pointing downward like the roots I am just assuming that's what it is - a root. At least, until it can prove me wrong, lol...

It should be in Memphis today.

Hey - that's where I'm from! mid-May is a pretty nice time to visit Minneapolis. Your new orchid definitely has good judgment.

Ahh, I'm jealous about the spike that's blooming. Still watching my nubbin like a hawk, but still can't tell. Though it's exciting you may get to see blooms soon Jenny

Ooo, I hope so I wonder, can someone give me an idea on how 'damp' these guys like to be? Since mine's in a pot, I figured I'd be looking at a usual watering of around every 7 days (assuming the cocktail sick test comes back dry!). But, I've got it in quite a bright location (no direct light) and it's in a small pot (being so small itself, see previous post ) so it may need more water if it's one that doesn't like to dry out too much.... Any thoughts oh wise OB people?

I thought I remember saying to let them dry out, then rewater, but I can't seem to find the source to back that up. Hopefully that's right, as mine has been getting this treatment on the mount. How quickly does the sphag dry out for you?
