Love the roots! What a great idea!

After looking at both flowers from IOSPE and the japonicus has reddish spots on the petals and the somai has solid color green petals. But I do think they are the same.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone that has Orchidwiz would check to see if indeed these are considered the same plant.

Dave,
Kieth posted something awhile back about the apparent distinction between the two. I dont have the links, but it really was minimal. Amazing how little it takes to be different. Maybe he can repost the link, or you can scavenge for it.

I am so jealous of everyone that has ordered and even received their plants already! I'm out of town until the 11th, so any orchids I order won't be shipped until the 16th. I really wanted to get cischweinfina glicensteinii as my TC, but seeing as how I just got rid of 3 vanda's because they were too much to take care of, perhaps buying two new orchids when one is already going home with me from my trip is a silly thing to do. Then again, 3 out means 3 can come in, right?

What plant did you hope would win?
Of the 4 plants on the poll I already have 2 of them: The Gastro and the Aerangis. I love the Aerangis, the fragrance is AMAZING! I was rooting for the Doritis since I'm not a big bulbo fan.

But maybe I'll still participate,if I can find Gastro somai! I'll go on my laptop and have a look at Orchidwiz later to see what they say about somai vs japonicus.

You bought them at Nardotto, right? They have all of those (I supposed you mean Gastro calceolaris). I want the fuscopuntatus!

Here is the somai: www.akerne-orchids.com
I'm hesitatant though, because there were some plants that I wanted from Nardotto (like another Haraella odorata to replace one of mine that died) But then again Akerne sells Tolumnias, which I really want! And they have Trichopilia tortilis.
