I'm adding the Orchidwiz (OW) temperature info to this as well. OW usually gives temperature ranges for day/night, summer/winter. So instead of writing everything out I summarized it the best I could.

The first set of numbers is the day/night temps in the summer, then I add info as necessary.

I put in bold the orchids that have sources with concurring info and fit our requirements. If necessary I checked what a grower says about it (I referred to Nardotto e Capello) to decide.

Underlined orchids are ones that I'm unsure about.

Non underlined are not suitable temp wise.

Feel free to comment if you know otherwise about a specific orchid!I should have removed the too large orchids from this to save myself some research, but oh well.

Just a quick note: the size of 3.5" listed for Den. unicum is somewhat inaccurate. The species is fairly variable and while some clones stay in that size range, I have one that's a bit bigger with the latest pseudobulb at about 9". Still well within the size range for the project, and overall it's an easy and very rewarding species to grow.

, I have a hybrid of this (dendrobium Stardust 'firebird' ) it is in flower now and I just measured the longest cane , which is in flower & it measures 30cms roughly 11" . My conditions are Intermediate, only thing missing is rhe mother plants scent

I have a couple to add to the list:
Dendrobium jenkinsii- AO- $18, Popow- 12 Eur.
Dendrobium kingianum- AO- $10-$16, GO- 16 Eur.

I was all set to suggest Dendrobium loddigesii, but then I realized that it was used last time. oops.

These are blooming size at Oak Hill and I think they are at Nardotto.

Amazing responses every one! And Rosie and Camille-- wow! Such dedication to the project. I'm wondering, though, when will there be a decision? Is it put to a vote or will someone make the decision for the group? I'm ok with either method!

Will do, Rosie. I've been trying to catch up with this thread but its gotten a little big and I haven't the time to read through it all!

I've subscribe to the thread, though, so I'll be able to keep tabs, if not read everything.
