I am in Wisconsin, and not affected, but it doesn't seem fair to me that they have to wait.

Does that make things even easier?

But not being from any of the affected areas, I don't have any strong feelings - except that I don't want to wait an extra month!!

I will say that anyone living in Hawaii shouldn't complain too much. Yes, it may be a hassle dealing with extra permits and increased shipping - but they can walk out their front door and they're in Hawaii !!! So lucky!!
We never had SBOE listed as a vendor. I think someone suggested plants and when they looked for vendors some of those were only at SBOE. I think that there are only 2-3 plants concerned, so not really a big deal to drop them off the list. We have plenty more!

Or we use SBOE on the condition that those plants are available elsewhere as well, so that the Florida and Louisiana people can avoid the 1 month delay.

Good deal.... My fault... I didn't even think of checking shipping restrictions.

On the other hand I picked up a Sedirea japonica last weekend for $12 in spike.... wonderful smelling plant

I did find Cochleanthes discolor from another vendors but it's out of the price range.

Between shipping restriction and price, we can remove this one from the list i think...

IMHO, I would eliminate any SBOE plants, even though it would not affect me personally. IMHO

Are there others vendors that we would consider "off the list"?

I don't think so, we had already carefully selected the growers. There might be issues with some EU growers, for example if they only accept bank transfer as the payment method. In that case if you're ordering from a different country there are bank fees to deal with. i'm lucky, my banks waives fees for transfers within Europe. Don't know how much of an issue it is though for others.

Thanks everyone. That was my feeling, but I wanted to check.

So SOBE are off the list. Anyone who wants to order the chosen plant can buy it from them if they wish... but if a plant is ONLY available from them (in the USA) then it will not make the final list.

Thanks everyone who responded both here on on PM's.

I am not in the areas of restriction but I agree that it is not fair for those that are. I believe this is the main reason we have not used them for projects before.
