Oh yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about! Now it's a race to the finish line. 2 runners is a race, but much more fun with more participants. Anyone else? Is Al in? Hmmmm.

Ross, you may be right, there are two extremely small "nubs" emerging from the base of the old bloom stalks (2). My old camera can't get in that close. They are about 1/16" long. Another week should tell.
Al, what kind of camera/lens do you have? There are attachments to allow you to get quite close like Close Up Lenses - Lenses & Accessories If your lens takes filters, these will work very well. I use several of them from time to time.

I guess its safe to say that your plant was worth the wait, Ross? Not just in spike, but two!! Very nice! Can't wait to see the flowers.

You can rest assured you will I see others with spikes, either obvious or not. I recommend everyone check there's carefully, cause I think the project involves who's spike energes first!

If they are spikes (don't look the same as the roots,) then I'll be quick to post a picture.

Actually here are the contest orchid and it's TC --

The right-hand photo shows what I believe are flower spikes.

Cischweinfia sheehanae, the TC. This is my second plant as the first one has just dwindled to practically nothing.
Looks like Cheryl was right they did save the best for last. They do look like spikes to me but what do I know? ( nothing thats what)

Please take my word for it - check yours over! There may be beginnings of spikes there! I'm hoping for a different type of project where it's a race to the finish line

Looks like I have a spike just emerging, see the first 3 pics. Picture 4 is Den. jenkinsii, and picture 5 is the group including L. Santa Barbara Sunset 'Showtime' HCC/AOS. Sorry about the pictures. The light was bad in the kitchen.

Well, Ross I am very glad you got yours today. I still haven't gotten mine and if things go the way they did before I probably won't get mine till Monday. I sure hope they aren't so wilted they can't come back. I just don't understand why it takes so long. I still have tomorrow and I've got my fingers crossed but don't hold much hope.
