Steven did you empty the box out? I almost missed mine it's so small, and it was at the very bottom of the box.

I agree with Terri...check that box again.
If it isn't there, call them right away. Tom and John are going away tomorrow and it would be best for you to deal directly with Tom before he leaves.

Please let us know how it goes.

Well, will wonders never cease! The box came today and I agree with all those that stated the plants are in fine shape. The Cischweinfia sheehanae I ordered is huge! It has blossomed twice that I can see. My Aerangis appears to be in double spike. Guess that disqualifies me? Or just this set of blossoms. If they are spikes (don't look the same as the roots,) then I'll be quick to post a picture.

Actually here are the contest orchid and it's TC --

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...eehanae_01.jpg Cischweinfia sheehanae, the TC. This is my second plant as the first one has just dwindled to practically nothing.

Ross, maybe the extra time in the box caused the spikes to start forming 'cause they sure look like spikes to me!

I knew you'd be happy once they arrived :D

As far as disqualifying you...nah!

We will use yours as an incentive for the group

Things like this is one of the reasons I like to call this thing we're doing a "project" rather than a "contest".
As long as we learn from each other, we're all succeeding

Thanks Susanne. Of course I still have to bring it to blossom, right? Anything can happen and usually does  :blushing:

TA DA !!

Well, here's the little jewel! Just so darn CUTE!

Anyone want to calculate the net, bareroot weight against an ounce of gold? LOL

Ross, wow, what a nice surprise, looks like mine has bloomed before so maybe there is hope.

Al, check yours very closely at the base of the leaves. You may have spikes also. Not sure why mine does and nobody else does :hmm Doesn't make sense. There's gotta be more spikes out there. I see this as a race to finish line of the already spiking 'chids

Pretty sure I've got a spike...

Bird Song Farm 08-10-2007 04:09 PM

Rhonda, sure looks like a spike!! Wonderful !!

Ross, you may be right, there are two extremely small "nubs" emerging from the base of the old bloom stalks (2). My old camera can't get in that close. They are about 1/16" long. Another week should tell.

Recv'd my Aerangis rhodosticta, yesterday ordered 8/3 shipped 8/7 received 8/9, can't beat that, packed very well as always. Now the work begins. Jim.
