Hi,
I think Phil, badlydrawnboy has bought one with spike too.
I keep them both in a little terri in front of the window so that it gets enought light. gets some water once a week, not too much, temperature around 70. so far both are growing
pics of the whole plant are online here.. where all the pics of the project are in

Cool, Phil! Will we be seeing photos of your's soon too?
These plants are gorgeous! Elke, I'm so envious. Thanks for posting photos of the whole plant (and for giving us a look at the one you have not in spike - that root growth is something else!). I'm wondering if I did the right thing by mounting mine... though it seems to like it now and has plenty of new roots as well.
I agree with Sue, make sure you keep some of those photos in mind for the next OB calendar!

I would center the image more on the flower spike from just above the node closest to the flowers and up in this case. I would also catch it with as many open flowers as possible from several different angles.

Elke, it would be great to get some beautiful photos like the ones you originally posted here, only take them so that the picture is landscape based (side ways) rather than profile (vertical). Those are the best pics for the calendar.

Here is a pic of how I set mine up. Mounted inside a terrarium. It's been growing nice green root tips.
