Default Project 4 Nubbin' - Spike or Root?

What do you think?

If I were to get a spike where could I expect it to appear? Above or below the leaves?

Hi Gwen

I'm not sure but that looks like a root to me by the coloring. Let's see what the others have to say

I think it is a root as well. I have a root that is forming on mine in a similar area to where yours is forming....it is also the same color and thickness. The spike on my plant I will have to look at when I get home to see exactly where it is coming from on the orchid. But it is not as bright of a green and is mush skinnier looking. Take a look at my photo's I posted under our project album and maybe that will help you!

It's a root. A spike will be thinner and solid green. Spikes come from same-sort-of locations, but are not real thick like this one.

Roots are good! That should be your mantra. Roots are good! Got it yet? Roots are good! Once plant get's settled in comes the flowers. First we gotta get roots. Got it yet? Roots are good!
