Oops. Were we supposed to let you know when the plant was received?? My bad.
Received (mounted) 8/9 along with Gastrochilus japonicus, Gastrochilus calceolaris, and Phal hieroglypica. Not a bad haul....

I just got my Phal. parishii with the Aerangis. I'm happy! I had them delivered potted so I can mount them myself later on.

Finally got there.
Hi all!
Well,, I finally made it to Parkside and picked out my project plant. I bought one of the mounted ones and it is not in spike. I had the opportunity to carefully inspect all of them and none of the remaining plants have spikes. They are offering them either mounted on a stick or in a 2" clay pot. In my opinion, the mounted ones looked a little more mature and healthier. The price was the same and of course, got the discount.
I couldn't resist getting a TC (imagine that) because I knew it would be lonely in the back seat of the car so I've added a Dendrochilum magnum with 3 old growths and four new ones all in spike. Not as nice as the one I saw a few weeks back at their Orchidfest but I'm happy with the price/size ratio. Normally I would have bought two since my rule is to buy two of the same thing from any commercial vendor but the wallet is forcing me to wait to get the second a little later. Maybe their November sale. Anyway, I'll attempt pics but my camera doesn't do well with really close up shots.

Okay I have a quick question. I requested my plant to be mounted. I was thinking of switching it over to a Swampstick mount, but I haven't made my mind up yet. If I leave it on the mount it is currently on. How do I go about watering it if I do not have sprayers in my orchidarium? I have heard people mention that they dunk the mounts in water....wouldn't this mean the entire plant would get dunked into water? And if so, how long of a dunk? My other problem is that when I leave in a couple of weeks I will be gone for 9 days and I would hate to have to have someone come in and water it daily. Maybe I should have gotten a potted one that wouldn't need watering daily.
