you know, ive never actually done that. what entails taking an " award photo " is it just a picture of the whole plant?

I'm really liking the idea of an artsy photo project. We could even allow photoshopping to get some cool effects in. At the end of it we could have a poll to vote for our favorite pics.
Since not everyone would have plants in bloom for immediate use, we could have this go on for a month or more so that everyone can have an opportunity to join in.
I have a ton of phals in spike now, but they're all in France. Only thing I have spiking in the 13 orchids I brought with me is my Howeara Lava Burst. I had a nightmare a few nights ago that I woke up one day to find every single bud blasted and laying on the floor....

we could make it a longer project. and like lady T suggested, you can do fine art with an aspect of the plant. be creative!

I like all of the above! Photoshop where it could be interesting, lots of different parts of the orchid, so anyone with orchids, in bloom or out of bloom can participate! Can be in color, black and white, etc. etc.
This will be so fun!!! I like the extended timeline, so that if we want to get some in bloom, we can! Plus, this can be an open ended project too if it's peaking our interest?
