Love the idea for the spring/summer project!
And, I totally understand the hesitation b/c of temps for a winter project, as well as the drawback of the planning and the keeping of attention to the other projects. I don't want to steal anyone's thunder ![Wink](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif) I was just looking for a "good excuse" to buy something ![Wink](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif) There are very few named orchids at my local stores.
I like the photography/art project idea!!! That would hold my attention and provide a much needed focus as today I contemplate how similar I feel to a snow globe. Oy. I'm interested in this... good suggestion! I wouldn't mind the s/h thing too, but I know I'd have to read up a lot more to understand it.

An idea if we do a photography project, instead of taking classic potrait shots of our orchids, maybe we could do more artsy photos, like taking pics from unusual angles or focusing only only of a part of a bloom for example. Could make things interesting, and encourage us to see our orchids in a different way as well.

sort of like a fine art approach to photographing orchids. instead of a purely journalistic approach

thank you! i find it hard sometimes to make the time to take the pictures in a fine art aspect. usually its just a quick journalistic/ show off pick. i think this would be really fun!

me too! I'm not very skilled, but I do have a digi rebel that my husband thinks I don't use enough, so this would be really fun! Only a couple of my orchids are in bloom, so it will be fun to give the rest of the plant some time in the limelight ![Wink](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

I've been following the thread, the idea of a photo project is interesting, though I wonder if there would be interest in shooting a plant as if you were taking an "award" shot...
