It's a small division from a blooming sized plant.
Trust me, that's not going to bloom anytime soon. It'll take a while.
It won't be anything like 5 yrs though. It'll be like 2 or 3 yrs.

Max tenuifolia is actually pretty temperature tolerant. It can take temperatures in excess of 100 F down to 40 F.
It likes Cattleya type light.
Max tenuifolia likes lots of moisture. Be careful with damaging roots. That's how they tend to be difficult to bloom. Too much root damage and it delays their bloom cycle. It can take years to recover from that kind of damage.
These are not very prolific bloomers. They also tend to be a bit picky about blooming.
Really easy to grow, difficult to bloom.

Idk if you saw my post but Los osos will only give the 2 dollars off the plant, no discount for shipping. But they do look like they are really nice plants.

Because that's exactly what they are.
He's not lying.
He's just not telling you that it'll take a while.

that just confuses me. why doesnt he say that they are a while from blooming instead of saying that they are blooming sized, but small? anyways, its not something i want to get into a huge debate about. i trust your judgement and knowledge way more than mine, and i will do what you say.
i google maxillatia tenuifolia 'los osos' but found nothing ecpet for their website. and their ebay add doesnt have it listed as that either. ill call them tomorrow

I ordered my Max tenuifolia from Oak Hill Gardens. But so it wouldn't be lonely on it's trip, I also ordered a Den thyrisoflorum and a small Catt skinneri.
The house looks so empty, now that many of my orchids are summering outside.
I almost ordered an Angraecum sesquipedale ( too particular for my house environment) and a Laelia purpurata (too big) but reason prevailed- one of the few times in my orchid life that it has!
