Mine gets full sun all day. And I mean direct baking sun from dawn till dusk.
It loves it there.

So a week ago I was just about to leave on holiday for a week... was moving my mounts which live in the full sun into a shadier spot (because they usually get daily water and wouldn't get any in a week)... and look what I spotted!
This is the one and only flower I've ever had on this, hidden at the base only visible through the leaves. Had to poke the camera in through them to get this shot.
I only checked briefly when I got back (and watered it) earlier today but looks to still be there. No idea how long it had been there before I spotted it, as I usually never move this one once it's in it's summer spot.

Hooray! Hopefully this starts a trend with yours today.
Those buds just seen to pop out of nowhere. Just found mine in bloom today as well.
It looks freshly opened. The top tends to arch backwards when fully opened

with fresh flowers they do smell like coconut. I thought they smelled like feet but the flowers were old and they did smell like feet.

Nice blooms!! I never paid attention to the smell of the older blooms. If my plant decides to bloom this year I'll try to pay attention to it!
Funny you brought up this thread, this weekend I looked at the photos from when I first bought the plant to compare with what it looks like now. The tiny little plant has truly become a monster! I should post photos here.

Wow, great display. Mine (the original plant) has only ever had one solitary flower (last year) hidden in the bulbs. It's a monster compared to when I bought it though. I also bought the yellow version a while after the project plant. The yellow one I had potted and the project one mounted, the yellow didn't do well potted so it's been mounted a couple of years now and finally starting to get growing.

Well I just have to share
5 years Later.....I finally have ONE open bloom and 6 buds!
As already said by many the plant is huge compared to when I first bought It and the buds/flowers really do appear out of nowhere!

I managed to take a photo today as there was a bit of sunshine. This is the first opened bloom, will take some more when the other buds open.
