I got 2 pieces of MAx tenuifolia. The PBs have been shriveling constantly. until I put the small 3 PB one in a net pot with moss sitting on top of a small glass and sitting on water constantly, sort of S/H in moss. I see a root growing in water and the PB plumped up. No signs of rot and the moss is constantly wet. It has been like that for 3 months. So I just put the other one in a similar setup.

Sounds like a neat technique! Do you have a pic of it? I think I see how you did it, but not sure.

do not have a photo now. plump plant it is at my ex girlfriend - maybe not ex, somehow limbo.
but i think you can understand the technique.
net pot filled with moss inserted in glass or clear plastic cup that fits snugly around. fill the glass with water until it reaches the bottom of the net pot.
In any case it is a good system for SH as you can pull up the net pot change the water clean the glass etc etc.

I see. Sort of like how I grow my Pyschopsis, minus the sphag (use bark) and no water.

I have low humidity so now I mostly use net pots and I insert them is a slightly larger clay or plastic pot so I keep air and humidity at the same time around the roots.
For bulbophyllums I use cheap shallow bonsai pots with some coco fiber and sphag and perlite and have the pot sit in a tray of water, I see that they all plumped up and look happy, I am relatively novice and I think last year I underwatered some plants more than overwatering some.
I see Encyclias do best in my conditions. I wonder if they are low humidity resistant. they grow faster than the rest.

Mine had not been doing much during the winter but I see new growths. I'm hoping they are spikes but they are probably new pbs. It's hard to photograph them as they are sort of buried between the other pbs.
