my buds are actually developing quite fast.
I am hoping to pollinate them after some weeks.
By the way, one thing i did notice, if you check closely on the normal variety and the yellow one, the yellow flowers seem to be smaller and more closed, the petals seem to be shorter also.
Too bad

Thanks, saves me the trouble of emailing to ask! Looks like I'll have to wait until April to get this one, since I plan on going home for 2-3 weeks. Shipping costs in France are such a ripoff. 12,50€ will get the package to somewhere else in france, while in NL the same amount gets it to almost anywhere in Europe...

Yes, i will take some pictures of both the buds and the flowers.
Pretty much all my maxillaria from brazil flowered recently and this one kicked in also.
I will try to get some seed pods going on this special clone and after its done flowering i will move it to some fresh leca in a smaller pot.
I believe mine is flowering soon because it had a very bright winter, i grow under lights and i keep the same intensity all year round.
Maybe it is confused.

I was doing the weekly check-over of my orchids just now, and I think my Maxillaria might have spikes.
I really really hope it's not already new growths. They look a bit too pointy to be buds..... Of the 8 new bulbs on the plant, 6 have a little nubbin coming up between the bulb and leaf.
Here's a pic of one (had to bend back the leaf to see it), what do you guys think?
