Once we all have our plants, we should have a pina colada party. Maybe someone can find powdered mix that we can mail around.
I'm going errand running later today, I'll have to do some searching....

We can decorate a thread with hawaiian smilies and pictures...and all fawn over our new 'chids while getting blissfully intoxicated...on...endorphins...

orchids. the new aphrodisiac.

I don't think aphrodisiac talk is appropriate for the board...

That is not what I was saying, but this is all I have to say on the matter:

aphrodisiac: a drug or other agent that stimulates sexual desire.

That is not just chocolate.

You won't believe it, but there is some truth in that. In fact the word orchid comes from the greek word of órkhis, which means testicle... There is a genus of temperate terrestrial orchid on the european continent, Orchis (such as Orchis mascula, and the Ophrys genus has similarily shaped bulbs) that has testicule shaped bulbs thus the name. In the past, because of it's resemblance to those, err, human bulbs, the Orchis bulbs were dug up, dried and ground to be given to people as an aphrodisiac. Now if there's any truth in that I don't know, but historically orchids can be considered aphrodisiacs!

Just to give everyone a heads up, I am done with the project. It was not what I thought, and I am not planning to deal with certain situations that I have been put through. Maybe next time.

Sorry to hear that, especially since you have been really involved in the whole project process. I thought that you had ordered your plant though?

I have, and it's just another couple of orchids for my collection. I don't like some things that have happened, otherwise I would be more than happy to do the project.

Is there anything I or a Moderator can do? I don't quite understand. You've put some much effort in this.

No, it's fine. I would just rather end the problem now. And the simplest way to do so it to stop the project. But I might do the next, and I will still help out as much as I can.

On that note Los Osos says that they are only able to give the plants at 8 dollars, 2 dollars off, but they are unable to do anything about the shipping. If you order from them, just tell them you're with the project. I hope this helps someone. Take care all, and enjoy!
